Solico Group was established in 1966 and commenced its business to service the booming construction industry of the UAE by providing the market with Composite products. This formed the foundation for the company’s growth and expansion around the world and the introduction of Solico Tanks.

Solico introduced a pioneering water storage solution that would revolutionize the industry — hot-pressed GRP panel-type water tanks. Solico quickly gained market share by distributing industry-leading Japanese brand Bridgestone with exceptional levels of service and reliability. This highly successful collaboration, combined with the company’s global marketing drive, moved entire industries away from conventional water storage options and toward to cleaner, healthier solutions.

Following several years of innovation, commercial success, and expansion, Solico moved to a new 220,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali, Dubai. It was from the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing base that it expanded its already formidable range of products and processes — adding Polyurethane molding, SMC hot-press compression molding, and thermoforming. The company quickly developed a reputation as a supplier of premium OEM products to some of the world’s most recognizable brands.

Solico launched its boat business division ASIS. The new venture leveraged its vast expertise in fiber wet and pre-preg lay-up processes for OEM manufacturing. The result was a series of successful products, including rigid inflatable boats for Zodiac in France, ASIS in the UAE and New Zealand, and Ocean Craft Marine in the USA.

Following a further period of rapid expansion, Solico began the second phaseof its manufacturing facility process — significantly increasing its production capacity for future projects.

SWS Board Technology was launched — a water sports business specializing in compression molding and Polyurethane molding. Solico went on to play a leading role in the design and manufacturing of a range of OEM products for some of the world’s most reputable sports brands.

Solico introduced the hot-press SMC manufacturing plant for its new range of next-generation GRP panel-type water tanks. The Solico Tanks brand is launched, and the group begins a new chapter in its long and illustrious history.

Solico Group celebrated its 50th anniversary — and five decades of achievement. The company was also able to take pride in becoming one of the world’s most respected suppliers and OEM manufacturers of quality molded composite products for many international brands, with an emphasis on the American and European markets.

Solico Group embarked on the third-phase expansion of its manufacturing facility — increasing it to 400,000 ft2 in order to meet the demand for its growing list of products and services.

Solico Group strengthened its commitment to sustainability by installing solar panels on the roof of its Jebel Ali manufacturing facility to reduce its carbon footprint.

Since the creation of Solico Tanks, we have been investing in research and development projects to expand our product range and increase the effectiveness of our products. We’re now able to design and manufacture 6-meter-high water tanks with varying seismic classes — securing safe water supplies in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.
